Macau casino concessionaire SJM Resorts Ltd has officially announced its decision to grant a "special discretionary bonus" to its employees, equivalent to one month's salary. The bonus will be distributed in two installments, with the first installment scheduled for January 18 and the second to be given later this July, as detailed in a press statement released by SJM Resorts on Tuesday.
The total bonus amount for each employee will be calculated based on their monthly pay as of December 31, 2022. This calculation will encompass both the base salary and any guaranteed tips, if applicable. A Chinese-language internal memo, which was made available to GGRAsia, provides further information regarding this payment structure.
It is important to note that employees who have experienced unpaid absences for 31 days or more within a year and those who had less than a year of service with the company as of 2022 will receive their discretionary bonus on a pro-rata basis, as outlined in the same memo.
SJM Resorts' Managing Director, Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, expressed gratitude towards the company's team members for their hard work and contributions throughout the past year.
